Client Interview: Meet Michael


Meet Michael. Michael has been Boxing with me and like myself, is a fan of cricket and Boxing. Michael’s family are originally from Trinidad & Tobago, the home of a great sportsman we both admire, Brian Lara. Luckily for me, Michael is as nice as Brian Lara rather than the fearsome fast bowlers that came out of the West Indies in the 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s. Just as well because he could quite easily have the attitude of a fearsome West Indian fast bowler with the punching power he possesses. The attempted mugger who tried to rob Michael found that out the hard way….

How Long have you been boxing?

6 years

What got you interested in boxing?

Health , fitness and learn more about the sport I love to watch

What do like most about boxing?

As each session goes by I can see improvements. It’s a social sport with the obvious health benefits. The confidence to know you have the skill set to protect yourself isn’t bad either.

Do you have any hobbies outside of the gym?

Cricket, Football, I Support Arsenal

Is there a particular sportsman you admire?

I enjoy watching football and cricket. Clive Lloyd and Brian Lara are a couple of sportsmen I admire.

Which Boxers do you particularly enjoy watching?

Andre Ward, Canelo Alvarez and Anthony Joshua

If you could choose to watch two boxers past or present fight each other, who would you most like to see?

Floyd Mayweather Jnr. If I managed to land a shot on one of the best defensive boxers in history then I know my boxing skills are alright.

This is a difficult one, I just love to box
