Client Interview: Meet Ravi

Meet Ravi. Ravi has been training with me for a few years, he first started off with weight training and now predominantly trains Boxing with me but does occasionally have a strength and conditioning workout. Ravi’s strengths lie in his quick hand speed and a natural strength in his lower body. He is always curious, wants to learn and has a high interest in anything which will help increase his athletic capabilities.

Mechanical Design Engineer

How Long have you been training/boxing?
9 years!

What got you interested in training/boxing?
I went to a kick boxing class at the start of joining university and soon realised I was lot better more flexible with my hands than my legs!

What do like most about boxing/training?

I like that it builds core strength as well as improving my timing, speed and agility

Do you have any hobbies outside of the gym?
DIY work

Do you follow other sports outside of Boxing? Is there a particular sportsman you admire?
Formula 1, football, tennis

Which Boxers do you particularly enjoy watching?

Gennady Golovkin and Manny Pacquiao during his prime

If you could choose to watch two boxers past or present fight each other, who would you most like to see?

How do you motivate yourself to keep training?
Realisation that I’m getting older and a slower rate metabolism!

How has the training made a difference to your life?

Definitely, when I don’t train for more than a month I notice a drop in energy levels

Who or what inspires you?

Anyone who really puts their full heart and soul into achieving something

If you could go back in time to when you was a child, what advice would you give yourself?

Start boxing earlier!

Do you have any words of wisdom you live your life by?
Whatever you do, try and put your heart into it or don’t bother at all.
